The IAS Computer also known as Von Neuman Computer was the first-generation computer that was built at the Institute for Advanced Study (IAS) during 1945-1951 which implemented “stored-program concept” where the instructions and data are stored and accessed from the same electronic memory. IAS was proposed by John von Neumann who was a mathematics professor working at Princeton University as well as IAS. The IAS Computer is the foundation for all computers that exists till now.
Components of IAS

Central Processing Unit CPU consists of Arithmetic Logic Unit (ALU) and Control Unit (CU).
Arithmetic Logic Unit (ALU) performs the Arithmetic and Logic Operations.
Control Unit (CU) performs the control operations of
Input are components through which data and instruction goes to CPU.
Output are components through which data is presented externally.
